Dr. Keller and his team are focused on providing cutting edge solutions for sleep related breathing disorders. We have seen excellent results treating sleep apnea and snoring especially for those that can not tolerate CPAP devices and seek alternative, comfortable, and effective solutions. We also offer solutions for TMD and facial pain.
Your first visit with Dr. Keller will be a comprehensive one. He will get to know you, your concerns and your goals. Please allow for a good hour for this visit. Together, we will review your medical and sleep history followed by a detailed exam of your mouth and throat as well as your TMJ and related muscles and nerves.
Dr. Keller will review with you his findings and a customized treatment plan will be generated that will be presented to you and communicated with your physician. A step by step road map will be generated to get you from our current status to the final destination of improved sleep and health.
The treatment we offer for sleep apnea and snoring include oral appliance therapy in combination with positional therapy, sleep hygiene, thermal therapy, respiratory training and pharmacological intervention when appropriate. Based on your specific circumstances, if appliance therapy is recommended, an appliance will be custom designed to achieve effective solutions for your unique condition.
Medical insurance can be confusing. Many medical insurance companies provide coverage for oral appliance therapy for obstructive sleep apnea, but your policy will specify your level of coverage. We can reach out to your insurance provider on your behalf. We look at each patient’s individual needs and help you to obtain the maximum insurance benefits possible.
In our practice, we will always make treatment recommendations based on what we believe is in your best interest to improve your sleep and your health. We will help you understand the cost of your treatment so you can make an informed decision about oral appliance therapy. We will also explain how your insurance benefits can help you with the cost of treatment.
Yes, most medical insurance companies cover oral appliance therapy for treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. It is our experience that over 90% of patients have plans that cover a portion of this treatment.
There are specific provisions within most insurance plans to cover a portion of services from out-of-network providers. Check with your insurance company to confirm that you have out-of-network benefits.
If we are in-network providers for your medical insurance, then you will only need to pay your policy’s co-insurance at each visit to our office. If we are out-of-network providers for your medical insurance carrier, it is our practice to require payment at the time of service and to help you get reimbursed by your insurance company according to your policy. If our office is not a provider in your insurance network, we do not have access to information about your insurance coverage rates, co-payments and deductibles. However, we will submit the insurance claim on your behalf and provide the necessary documentation to help you receive your maximum insurance benefits.
We appreciate the faith you place in us by referring patients. When we proceed it is our policy to keep you updated on the patient’s progress. Our recommendation to all patients seeking dental sleep medicine intervention, to be evaluated by a sleep medicine physician.
